About Brisbane Woman

bw3Kylie Welsh is the founder of Brisbane Woman.  As a professional, freelance writer, specialising in women’s issues, Kylie soon became privy to the amazing accomplishments of women and what they were achieving in their own businesses here in Brisbane.   

Brisbane Woman followed and has evolved into a dynamic and inspiring organisation that supports women in business, assisting them to reach their full potential. The aim of Brisbane Woman is to promote women’s businesses, to educate them for success in business and to connect them with other like-minded women.  

Brisbane Woman initially started as a blog based on the need for intelligent, thought provoking articles for women in business.  The response in the first 3 months was overwhelming, with over 500 female readers tuning in each Thursday.  In March 2009 Brisbane Woman launched into a full time business: promoting, educating and connecting women in business.  Brisbane Woman provides the forum for women to promote their achievements, with both personal and professional support. The website includes thought provoking articles to read, free membership, networking events, workshops and Masterclasses to attend, a membership directory, on-line forums, an upcoming women’s events register and networking referral program.

Brisbane woman is a community of collaborative, like-minded, supportive and inspiring women.  With over 1500 members in just 12 months, the future is looking very bright.  Brisbane Woman promotes it’s members, by providing qualified audiences for women to present to, getting them noticed and growing their businesses locally.  We provide support to business owners through workshops, masterclasses and coaching, to empower everyone with the skills and knowledge to make their businesses successful.   We connect women by providing warm and welcoming networking opportunities with other like-minded women, for meaningful and mutually supportive relationship development. 

Through our specialist writing stream, Brisbane Woman builds credibility in the marketplace for members, raising local women’s professional profiles, so they become recognised as leaders. We want Brisbane Woman members to stand out from the crowd, get noticed and for their businesses to grow.  Our commitment to every woman involved in the Brisbane Woman’s specialist stream, is to assist them reach their full potential and empower them with the skills to become a credible expert, in any area they choose to pursue. 

There are a couple of ways you can be involved with Brisbane Woman:

  • Monthly E-News - sign up and you will be notified of our new, thought provoking articles about women, designed to captivate and inspire from both personal and business perspectives. 

  • Become a Member of Brisbane Woman for FREE - have your details registered in the Member Directory.  This way other women can read about your business and make contact easily.

  • Brisbane Woman Networking and Workshop Evenings - come along, be inspired and meet other like-minded women in business.  With each event you will come away with at least 30-40 new contacts.
  • Masterclasses for women going places! - don’t spend big dollars on coaching fees, come along and enjoy a delicious light lunch while discovering valuable skills and strategies to make your business more successful, with the help of an exceptional coach and a great group of ladies.

  • Facilitate a Brisbane Woman Workshop- register your interest in facilitating a workshop. Set yourself up as an expert or specialist and showcase your business to the Brisbane Woman community!

  • Register your next event - let our hundreds of Brisbane Woman members read about your upcoming event.  Our monthly e-news goes out to over 1500 women.
