About Kylie
Kylie is an author and freelance writer on issues affecting modern Australian women. She is the founder and editor of Brisbane Woman and now works full time in Brisbane Woman, helping women in their own business reach their full potential.
Kylie’s Background
Kylie’s previous experience has been in writing and delivering training programs focusing on personal effectiveness for senior, corporate women. Kylie has written many courses and programs to assist women to make the most out of their lives through intelligent self awareness.
Through her own blossoming self awareness and development Kylie began to question that while greater satisfaction and reward was being achieved for women in their workplace, the same level of fulfilment was not always as evident in their personal lives.
Her research began to determine how the expectations of modern women have changed, why they are delaying marriage and what they really want from their intimate relationships now. Her first book, Impertinent Women was published in 2005.
Kylie now writes across all contemporary women’s issues in Australia, with particular focus on women in their own business. She is currently completing her debut novel.
Kylie believes that women make the best decisions both in life when they are self aware and empowered. Her aim is to be actively involved in publications that strive to empower women.
Kylie Welsh moved back to Brisbane in 2007 and worked as a professional freelance writer until she started Brisbane Woman in 2008. As a professional, freelance writer, specialising in women’s issues, Kylie soon became privy to the amazing accomplishments of women and what they were achieving in their own businesses here in Brisbane.
Brisbane Woman initially started as a blog based on the need for intelligent, thought provoking articles for women in business. The response in the first 3 months was overwhelming, with over 500 female readers tuning in each Thursday. In March 2009 Brisbane Woman launched into a full time business: promoting, educating and connecting women in business. Brisbane Woman provides the forum for women to promote their achievements, with both personal and professional support.
Brisbane woman is a community of collaborative, like-minded, supportive and inspiring women. With over 1500 members in just 12 months, the future is looking very bright.
Kylie also works as a professional writing coach with members of the Brisbane Woman community. She believes one of the most powerful ways to build credibility is through the written word. Kylie works with women building their writing confidence so they can raise their professional profiles and start positioning themselves as credible experts. Kylie’s goal with Brisbane Woman is to develop women’s confidence with writing and get them writing more. For more information on Kylie’s Writing Coaching services, please click here.
